TRAVELER’S GUIDE TO NURSING AND ALLIED HEALTH: Nurse Practitioner Ranked Best Job in Healthcare

This week’s edition of the Traveler’s Guide to Nursing and Allied Health reviews U.S. News & World Report’s 100 Best Jobs of 2023.

U.S. News & World Report released its 2023 “100 Best Jobs,” and nurse practitioner was ranked No. 1 among healthcare professionals and No. 2 overall. The annual ranking examined jobs with the largest number and percentage of expected openings from 2021-2031 based on Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data. Entries were then scored on factors such as median salary, unemployment rate, stress, work-life balance, and job growth.

In total, 190 jobs were included, 56 in healthcare or healthcare-related fields. Despite the high level of stress associated with healthcare, three of the top five positions were in the field.  Software developer was the No. 1 ranked job overall.
