On this assignment you’ll be helping the facility’s clinical staff as you perform a variety of support functions that expedite the delivery of procedural and surgical services to patients. You also will provide patient care necessary for your patients’ comfort and hygiene, in addition to administering simple treatments.

You will be responsible for the timely prep of ORs for surgery. You will participate as a member of the team as you perform additional assignments when the workload of your assignment requires it.

You will be responsible and held accountable for individual practice as you perform your duties under the direct supervision of an RN circulator and, as applicable, you will delegate and supervise additional tasks in order to provide the best in patient care.

You must be able to communicate effectively with other members of the care team (nurses, physicians, unit staff, the facility’s business and medical records offices, etc.) in order to provide continuity of patient care as you meet the needs of the customers the facility serves.

As mentioned above, you must be a BLCS Certified Surgical Tech and have been employed as a surgical technologist for at least one year.

You must also have the knowledge generally acquired either through a high school diploma or GED, including the ability to write, read, comprehend, follow written and oral instructions, perform math calculations, and communicate well enough so that you’re able to complete forms, order supplies and understand verbal and written instructions.
