December Top Job: Operating Room Nurse in Aspen, Colorado

If you’re an experienced operating room nurse who loves to ski, have we got a great traveling assignment for you: an 11-week assignment in an OR in Aspen, Colorado. You’ll be a scrubbing and circulating CO RN. You’ll need heavy orthopedic experience. The assignment runs through April 27, 2013: You’ll be able to take advantage of Aspen’s great skiing!

So let’s talk a bit about Aspen. This famous Rocky Mountain ski resort offers you lots of great skiing, of course. But there’s more to do here than just swoosh down Aspen Mountain.

You can enjoy the performances at the Aspen Music Festival and School, as well as attend the Aspen Ideas Festival at the world-famous Aspen Institute.

You’ll undoubtedly see a celebrity or two at your favorite café – Aspen is a hotspot for celebrities, journalists and, of course, tourists.

Many people come to Aspen for the culture – the shopping and fine dining (the town is full of eclectic shops and great restaurants).

But most come for nature. Aspen is located at 8,000 feet in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains’ Sawatch Range and along the Running Fork River. In addition, to skiing on Aspen Mountain in the winter, residents and visitors enjoy the natural beauty found in the surrounding White River National Forest all year round.

The city itself operates 30 public parks as well as the Wheeler Opera House, an 18-hole golf course, to tennis court complexes, a municipal swimming pool, four ball fields, two ice skating rinks, as well as 100 miles of skiing/biking/walking paths.

Pitkin County (Aspen is located in Pitkin County) has purchased many open spaces and trails over the years, and now offers 8,200 acres of open space lands with more than 20 miles of trails.

You can ski downhill, cross-country ski, ride a snowmobile, take a hike with snowshoes, and go on a sleigh ride in the winter, with golfing, hiking, fishing, tennis, horseback riding, jeep tours, whitewater rafting, paragliding, windsurfing, sailing, and more calling to you in the warmer months.

As for the arts, there’s not much you won’t find in Aspen.

Take on this assignment, and you can enjoy the Aspen Community Theatre, the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, the Aspen Arts Museum, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, the Food & Wine Classic, the Aspen FilmFest, and so much more.

If Aspen appeals to you, and you have the heavy orthopedic experience as an OR nurse that this travel assignment requires, send your resume/CV to a MedPro Healthcare recruiter today! We look forward to hearing from you.
