Continued Gratitude in May for National Nurses Week and National Women’s Health Week

A week to honor our nurses just does not seem like enough, especially considering all that they have done for us in such unprecedented times. The most-trusted essential professionals are there to provide passion and compassion to their patients, but also lend a vital hand in all areas of medicine.

We are already underway! This upcoming week, May 6-12, in celebration of National Nurses Week, we are hosting a series of daily raffles and prize giveaways. Make sure you are following both MedPro Healthcare Staffing and The MedPro Experience Facebook accounts to join in on the fun!

National Nurses Week (May 6-12, 2021)

This weeklong observance was established in 1994 and, in conjunction with the American Nurses Association (ANA), aims to spotlight the contributions by nurses for patient’s health.

Nursing is considered the most-trustworthy profession in the world. Nurses also walk, on average, up to five hours-per-day during a 12-hour shift. Lastly, half of all foreign-educated nurses are actually Filipino! Nurses work hard, they get to know the patients best and are both vital and essential to healthcare.

Just a few ways you can show the nurse in your life gratitude includes treating them to a spa day, writing a thank-you letter, taking them out for a nice meal or sending them a gift basket!

National Women’s Health Week (May 9-16, 2021)

Beginning annually on Mother’s Day is National Women’s Health Week (NWHW) and it is always important to get regular checkups for optimal women’s health. The observance is led by the Office on Women’s Health (OWH) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service.

Some tips for improving both physical and mental health include getting regular checkups and exams, staying active via at least 30 minutes-per-day, maintaining a balanced and healthy diet, and avoiding things which cause depression, like lack of sleep.

For more information on NWHW, visit CDC.Gov/NWHW and WomensHealth.Gov/NWHW.

We here at MedPro Healthcare Staffing want to wish all nurses a happy National Nurses Week and all the women in our lives continued good health!
