If you’re a travel nurse who wants to decorate for the holidays, the good news is that you can without breaking the bank! There is no reason to have to spend a lot of money to celebrate the holidays in style. Here are some ideas for how to decorate on a dime!
Hang Christmas lights from your balcony, fence, or other living area
If you love the look of hanging lights, you can easily put some up around a window, on a fence, or other area of your living space. These can be purchased at stores like Target or Walmart for less than $10, and even available at the dollar store at times.
Put up a small artificial tree
Instead of investing in a large, natural Christmas tree, just opt for a smaller artificial version. You can still hang lights, garland, and small ornaments on it. This way, you won’t have to worry about falling pine needles and a lot of cleanup after the holidays are over.
Burn a balsam and cedar-scented candle
Many local stores carry candles that smell like Christmas pines. These can be found at Bath and Body Works, Target, Walmart, T.J. Maxx, and other larger stores across the nation. Light one and let your whole living space smell like fresh pine!
Make a holiday centerpiece with artificial flowers
During the holidays, craft stores like Michael’s and Jo Ann Fabrics put out artificial flowers that are perfect for the holidays like poinsettias, red and white orchids, cedar picks, and berry garlands. Some even come with glitter to add just a touch of sparkle to your arrangement!
