Applying to MedPro

Can I send my resume instead of filling out the online application?

Your application provides us with much more information than just your experience. The skills check lists let us know your level of experience and your references tell us about your past working relationships--all of which help us find the right job to match your skills and needs.

Do I need a license for each state that I work in?

You need a license for every state in which you work (unless otherwise stated by the licensing body of your specialty). Every state has different requirements and we'll provide you with help and guidance to make the process as simple as possible. Most states require a fee and verification and some may require fingerprinting and criminal background checks. Remember: your recruiter will assist you every step of the way. We have licensure contacts and information on our Licensure page.

Who is responsible for getting a state license if I need one?

We can provide you with the information you need to get a license and help you through the process but, ultimately, the responsibility is yours.

Do I have to pay to apply with MedPro?

No, there are no fees to apply with us. All our fees are paid by our cilents--the hospitals and clinics where you'll work.

How do I choose an assignment?

Once we have reviewed your application and skills checklist, you and your recruiter will discuss your assignment expectations, career goals and your desired destination in order to find the best assignment for you. You will then be presented with available assignments, including details on the pay rate, facility, unit, shifts, location and bonuses.

From that list, you will interview with the facilities of your choice. All interviews are done over the phone. After your interview, you and your recruiter will decide which assignment to take.

What do you require from allied health professionals to become travelers?

You must be able to meet the facility's required credentials such as a license and certification. You must also have the experience and education to meet job requirements.

Benefits

What kinds of benefits do you offer?

Our benefits package is very competitive and includes free housing, free health and life insurance, employer-paid liability insurance, a generous referral program and more.

What will my compensation be?

You and your recruiter create a customized compensation package with an hourly rate that works for you. Options include a tax advantage program, which, if you qualify, puts more money in your pocket. Talk to your recruiter to find out more.

When do my benefits begin?

All your benefits begin on the first of the month after you start your assignment. If, for example, you start work on June 24th, your benefits would become active July 1st.

Can I add my spouse, children or partner to my health insurance?

Yes, we offer quality health insurance plans that can be extended to cover spouses, children and domestic partners.

Do you have a referral bonus program?

Yes, we have a great referral bonus program called Royalty for Loyalty which includes initial bonuses and on-going payments as long as your referral works for us. You can earn up to $20K in a year through our Royalty for Loyalty program.

Will I receive a housing subsidy if I stay with friends or family?

Yes. If you provide your own housing accommodations for your assignment we'll provide you with a monthly housing subsidy. The housing subsidy varies depending on the assignment and the location. To find out specific subsidy amounts, please contact your recruiter.

How do I travel to my assignment?

Most of our healthcare professionals drive to their assignments. We do have travel expense reimbursements which are higher if you're going to Hawaii or Alaska.

If I do bring a pet or family member will I have to pay to add them to my housing?

Our housing allowance is for a one bedroom apartment. We can help you find a larger unit or an apartment that will accept pets. Any additional cost, including pet fees or additional deposits, would be the traveler's responsibility and would be set up as a payroll deduction.

What's a typical housing situation like?

Our priorities for our travelers' housing are quality, proximity to the
facility and traveler satisfaction. Typically units are furnished, include a TV and all basic utilities.

Travel

What characteristics make a successful traveler?

Once you begin to travel, it helps to maintain a positive and outgoing attitude. You'll have to adapt to new surroundings, so being flexible is key. If you consider new challenges an adventure, you're off to a great start.

Can you find me a job in a particular city or state?

Our job listings include assignments in a variety of cities and states--just search our database for your desired location. Depending on your specialty, we may not have a position in your preferred city, but we'll do our best to get you where you want to go, or present you with other great opportunities. Our clients' needs change daily so call us or keep checking back with us if you don't see a job you want.

Can I travel when I choose? Do I have to sign an extended contract?

The choice is always yours, and you'll never have to sign an annual contract. Decide when you want to travel and where you want to go, and when your assignment is completed, you'll have even more choices:
--Extend your contract at the current facility
--Go to another location and facility
--Return home, and travel again in the future
